Lesser systems like ADT Pulse have popped up recently in an attempt to compete with what Alarm.com has been doing for over a decade but they just don’t meet the mark. If you want to help ADT pay for their massive advertising campaigns then buy ADT Pulse but if you want the best system and the best value available then buy Alarm.com for a more functional and lower priced system than ADT Pulse.

Alarm.com lets you know that your home is safe and secure from anywhere in the world. With a smart phone or computer you can check the current status and history of all events within your home. This gives you peace of mind while on that business trip.
Real-Time Notifications
Receive notification via email or text message as soon as anything happens in your home. If a door is opened, your sump pump stops working, the gun cabinet is opened, the fire alarm goes off, you’ll know as soon as it happens.
Secure, Dependable Alerting
Alarm.com uses dependable wireless GSM cellular networks with a battery backup to communicate with the central monitoring station. There is nothing a would-be thief can do to prevent the alarm system from notifying the central monitoring station. The phone lines can be cut, the power can be off, your internet connection can be down and all notifications will reach the central monitoring station.
People Are Forgetful
One of the most critical flaws with standard alarm systems is not with the alarm itself. It is that the home owner forgets to arm their system. A traditional alarm system provides no protection or options if the alarm system is not armed.

To help prevent this, I have setup a real-time notification that alerts me when my garage door has been open for more than 45 minutes. In addition, any time I check the status of my system it tells me immediately if the overhead door is open.
Another way that an Alarm.com system can help to prevent burglaries is by automatically turning on and off lights even if you are not there. It can be used to turn the outside lights on at night and off in the morning. It can also be used to turn bedroom or kitchen lights on and off at set times. The most common way burglars defeat security alarms is by kicking in a door and then smashing your alarm system during the 30 or 45 seconds while it’s waiting for you to disarm it. Other systems are vulnerable to this attack. Only Alarm.com has Crash and Smash protection that protects you from this. With Alarm.com Crash and Smash protection your alarm sends a signal immediately as soon as the door is kicked in telling Alarm.com to stand-by for the disarm signal. If the disarm signal is not received soon afterward Alarm.com assumes your panel has been smashed and calls the police anyway.
