Role Overview
As Technical Content Marketer, you’ll be the driving force behind our content strategy, creating compelling materials that showcase the power of Surety security systems. This full-time role demands a self-starter who thrives on autonomy, proactively identifies opportunities, and blends marketing savvy with technical know-how to promote our products & services. You’ll focus on content creation, promotion, and evangelism to attract new customers and fuel faster growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the content calendar, including forum posts, videos, social media content, tutorials, and case studies centered on DIY home & business security and Alarm.com features (e.g., smart integrations, app functionalities, and guides).
- Promote content across channels like social media, email, SEO-optimized websites, and partnerships to increase visibility and drive traffic.
- Act as a brand evangelist by engaging with communities and building goodwill in the smart home and security system space.
- Analyze performance metrics (e.g., engagement, conversions) to refine strategies and optimize for growth.
- Collaborate with the founder and team to align content with business goals, ensuring it highlights the ease and innovation of our Alarm.com systems.
- Stay ahead of trends in security system tech, content marketing, and digital promotion to bring fresh ideas to the table.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in content creation, digital marketing, or tech evangelism, preferably in consumer tech, IoT, security or home automation.
- Strong understanding of technology, with the ability to explain complex systems like Alarm.com in an accessible, engaging way—no engineering degree required, but comfort with gadgets and software is a must.
- Track record of proactive initiatives, such as launching successful campaigns or building audiences.
- Excellent writing, editing, and multimedia skills (e.g., video & graphic design basics).
- Proficiency in web analytics, SEO, social media, and content management systems.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Bonus: Experience with Alarm.com or similar smart home platforms, or a portfolio of tech-related content.
