Industry-First Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) on Simon XT & Simon XTi
We’re following our industry-first LTE module with another market-leading innovation: Voice over LTE (VoLTE). Alarm.com is now the first to offer VoLTE for smart home security in the U.S., enabling direct 2-way voice communications from central stations into the home during an emergency over Verizon’s 4G LTE Network. Simon XT/XTi modules supporting VoLTE are available for purchase.
Emergency Heating Mode Available For Supporting Thermostats
The new Emergency Heat mode will allow customers with heat pump systems to immediately turn on auxiliary heat without waiting for the staging delay, providing rapid heating and increased comfort (at a higher energy cost). This feature is available for the Alarm.com Smart Thermostat as well as the Radio Thermostat CT-100.
New Green Button Providers
Our list of providers who support Green Button has grown and now includes three new electricity providers: Ameren Illinois, Ameren Missouri (Union Electric Co) and Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. Energy Management customers whose utilities support Green Button can upload their energy usage data directly into the Alarm.com Customer Website. This data can supplement customers’ energy monitoring devices and help customers take full advantage of the Energy Management feature. To upload Green Button data, navigate to emPower, Energy > Settings & Bill Information and select your electricity provider from the dropdown menu. If the provider supports Green Button, a green icon will appear. From there, select Green Button Data and follow the instructions to upload energy data.
New ‘Rules Not Confirmed’ Trouble Condition for Image Sensor
We’ve added a new trouble condition for Image Sensors to alert installers to a problem with rules confirmation after enrollment. Image Sensors cannot capture or upload images until the rules confirmation process is complete. The new trouble condition will be issued whenever Image Sensor rules are not confirmed within the first hour after enrollment.
