The Honeywell 5898 is our recommended alternative to the 2GIG-PIR1-345 in circumstances where false alarms are a concern due to environmental triggers such as pets. The combination of PIR and K-Band microwave technologies enable the sensors to distinguish between real intruders and other environmental conditions by “confirming” each other within a defined area of protection. This leads to less animal movement being mistaken for a legitimate alarm trigger.

The 5898 also benefits from a wide mounting height range, whereas most other detectors specify within 6-12 inches, the 5898 can be effectively mounted between 7-9 feet high.
