I have a 2Gig system and would like a compatible color thermostat with touchscreen to use with the system. The Trane Comfortlink II is Z-wave compatible, I believe because it’s Schlage Nexia compatible. Anyone have any experience on using it with a 2GIG and Alarm.com??
It works and you don’t lose any of the features that the Trane thermostat comes with, but because Alarm.com was not designed with it in mind you will only be able to remotely use the features that 2gig also supports, which is more than sufficient.
What is the process for linking this thermostat with the 2gig panel?
That is not an officially compatible or supported device, so no documentation would exist, but as a Z-wave device it would function as any other. Enter learning mode on the 2GIG Panel - Services - Z-wave - Wrench Icon - Installer Code - Add Devices. On the Thermostat, perform its Z-wave pairing procedure per device instructions. The two should be within 6-10 feet of one another.
