Malfunction - Thermostat not responding

Suddenly our upstairs thermostat (2GIG) isn’t responding to commands and the app says “Malfunction (Upstairs Thermostat)”

How to get it back online?

We haven’t changed a thing on the system in quite a while, it had been quite stable…

Have you had any power outages or possibly moved or unplugged a plug-in Z-wave module?

Even something very innocuous as unplugging an appliance module and plugging it into a nearby circuit can cause issues since Z-wave is a mesh network.

The fix in most scenarios though is to run a network rediscovery. This will map the transmission routes of your Devices and will fix routing issues that arise.

I’ve sent a couple commands to check the device sync status. It looks like it is not reporting any neighbor nodes, which is odd. Try powering off the Tstat then power it back up. If you have a CT100 there is a reset button under the top plastic cover. Run a network rediscovery. Any luck?
