What's the difference between the versions of IQ Remote

Hi, I just realized that there’s a new version of the IQ remote. I have a QW9101-840, but see there’s a QW9104-840. Is there any major differences between the two?

there also seemed to me a QW9103-840, but that seemed to be replaced by the newer version, too.

There have been four, the 9101, 9102, 9103 and 9104. Each has replaced the last, it appears that the older models prior to the 9104 are discontinued.

The 9102 had a 5.5V transformer (a whole .5V difference over the 9101) meant for slightly longer install runs. Otherwise it was identical.

I have not seen the 9103 as we went from carrying the 9102 to the 9104 (it wasnt out to terribly long it appears)

Each version appears to have a better display over the last as well.

The 9104 offers a 7V transformer as well as slightly different design aesthetic (its slightly bigger as well at 4.6"H x 7.52"W x .76"D over the 9103 which is 4.25"H x 7.5"W x .33"D.

It also includes a more substantial table stand and glass capacitive touchscreen at 1024 x 600. It offers a built in 5MP camera, an Octa Core 1.4GHz processor, Dual band 2.4 and 5GHz WiFi, BLE 4.2 capable and a Front facing microphone over the 9103.

Thanks. Good to know.

I changed the transformer on my 9101 unit to 5.5V to assist with the long cable run (enough to make it work). Glad to know that was basically within spec. But a unit that supports 7V would be far better. I was secretly wishing they made a remote panel that runs over 12 / 24V. This is good.

The increase in processor speed is interesting. Not sure if Qolsys will enable live view on the remote panels. That would be amazing.

Couldn’t say if that’s the case, but agreed, that would be the most logical/useful function for the secondary to have.
