GoControl/Linear GD00Z-4 OR MyQ?

Hello, I recently purchased a 2gig GC3 system and would like to add a module to open/close the garage door using Alarm.com. Which of these two controllers works best with Alarm.com/GC3? Are there any real differences between the two? Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!
Mike

The GD00Z is a Z-Wave device that pairs directly with your alarm panel and is a part of a Z-Wave Mesh network. As the GD00Z is a Z-Wave device, you will want to have a strong mesh network in place (not just one or two devices) for optimal communication. You will likely need a repeating node(s) in between the GD00Z and the primary panel

A MyQ device on the other hand would connect to Alarm.com via Wi-Fi and would not interact with the panel directly. Optimal communication relies on a reliable Wi-Fi signal in the garage. MyQ devices also rely on third party integration between ADC and Liftmaster.

Provided both are compatible with the opener, I would lean toward the GD00Z. While both perform as expected, the Z-Wave device is easier to troubleshoot, especially when it comes to signalling/communication. Additionally, the MyQ tilt sensor does not report low battery in a timely fashion which can lead to some headaches.
