GC2E

My GC2 is 5+ years old and I am thinking of proactively replacing it with the GC2E.

Could you please confirm this will work for a panel swap?

  1. Request a backup of my existing GC2 panel. I have a 4G LTE card and 2Gig communicator.
  2. When the GC2E arrives, remove the communicator card from GC2 and install the same in GC2. Power up the GC2E
  3. Request customer service to push the backup to the new panel.
  4. All sensors and security system are installed, back to normal
2. When the GC2E arrives, remove the communicator card from GC2 and install the same in GC2. Power up the GC2E 4. Request customer service to push the backup to the new panel.

You are correct in all ways except for when to power up. If you are requesting a backup and restore, be sure to not power up the new panel with your module in it until you have requested the settings pushed and our team confirms it is time to power up in email reply.

If you power up before we push the backup, the new panel may sync its device list (an empty one) and overwrite the backup before it can be pushed down.

Perfect. Thanks Jason!
