Disconnecting a siren

I have a siren I need disconnected for a few days while we do some work on the house. Is there a specific way to disconnect it so as not to set the siren off?

Thanks

Disconnecting the wires will not make the siren sound. Both wires must be connected for the siren to make noise at all so disconnecting either wire would disable the siren.

What kind of panel do you have it connected to? If your panel has siren supervision enabled then disconnecting those wires will cause the panel to sound a trouble alert and might send a trouble signal to the central station. If the siren is connected to a 2GIG panel, make sure Q21 (Select siren supervision time) is disabled (0) before you disconnect the siren.
