I am going to get two thermostats and would love to hear from folks who have thermostats hooked up through alarm.com what they love/hate about the ones they have. Please share good and bad stories, pros/cons, etc… Anything I should def avoid? Anything I should be thinking about before I purchase?

You will want to take a look at this post here as some thermostats are no longer compatible with Alarm.com.
Best would largely come down to preference and HVAC in use as well as desired functionality.
For Alarm.com compatibility, the ADC-T2000 is my choice. You can monitor the temperature of indoor locations and receive temperature alerts through ADC by using the Remote Temp Sensor as well.
However, a lot of functionality is rule based and is selected via Alarm.com. Very little can be controlled via the TSTAT itself and most features require Alarm.com service.
